Dates & Information last Updated : Sept 15, 2026

Looking for a pregnancy retreat in Europe in 2026 or 2027? We compared seven prenatal retreats across France, Portugal, Spain, Italy and Austria, looking at their programmes, accommodation, current dates, pricing, prenatal yoga, labour and birth support, postpartum sessions and partner options.

Although they are all designed around pregnancy, they offer quite different experiences. Some focus strongly on labour, birth and postpartum, while others are centred more around prenatal yoga, deep rest, nature, luxury or simply taking a proper pause before your baby arrives.

This guide is here to make those differences easier to see — so you can find the pregnancy retreat that feels most like what you need during this stage of pregnancy.

Looking for a retreat you can attend together with your partner? See our guide to the best pregnancy retreats for couples in Europe.

A note on the order: These retreats are not ranked from best to worst. Each has a different focus, so the right choice depends on the experience and support you are looking for.

Guest review

“I arrived carrying a lot of anxiety and fear around my pregnancy and I left feeling calmer, more confident, and genuinely excited.”

“I can’t recommend the Humming Bee Retreat enough. I arrived carrying a lot of anxiety and fear around my pregnancy and I left feeling calmer, more confident, and genuinely excited. One of the things I appreciated most was Ingeborg’s science-based approach. Every topic was backed by evidence, while still leaving plenty of room for everyone’s personal experiences, questions, and preferences. She created such a safe, supportive environment that everyone felt comfortable opening up. Beyond the education, the retreat gave me something I wasn’t expecting, a community. The food was absolutely gourmet, the setting was breathtaking, and my room was so comfortable and peaceful that it was easy to truly rest and recharge. Humming Bee is an unforgettable experience.”

Unravel Mama Babymoon Retreat - Ericeira, Portugal

Best for: A relaxed coastal babymoon where you can slow down while still preparing for birth — especially if you'd like your partner involved

Unravel Mama is a lovely option if you want your pregnancy retreat to feel like a beautiful coastal escape rather than an intensive educational programme.

There is still meaningful support around birth and postpartum, but it sits alongside prenatal yoga, rest, rituals, sound and plenty of time to enjoy the atmosphere of Ericeira.

It is also one of the strongest options in this list if you would like your partner or support person to be part of the experience.

Duration: 5 days / 4 nights

Price: New retreat pricing to be announced

Upcoming retreat dates

New Babymoon dates are released throughout the year and have not yet been published for the next retreat.

The April/May 2027 programme currently advertised by Unravel Mama is a Mama Baby Retreat, so it is not included here as an upcoming pregnancy-retreat date.

Why Unravel Mama stands out

What makes Unravel Mama especially appealing is the balance between a babymoon feeling and genuine pregnancy support.

Its location near the coast in Ericeira gives it more of a holiday atmosphere than many countryside retreats, while prenatal yoga, doula-led sessions and postpartum preparation give the stay more depth than a conventional babymoon.

Partners are welcome too, making this particularly interesting for couples who want to share at least part of the experience rather than attending completely separately.

Guest review

Why Vansi stands out

The private masia near Girona and Barcelona, catered meals, massage and small group give the stay a polished and very cared-for feeling.

The Natural Yogi Pregnancy Retreat - Tuscany, Italy

Best for: Someone who genuinely loves yoga and wants it to be a big part of every day — with childbirth education alongside it

If prenatal yoga is one of the main reasons you are searching for a retreat, The Natural Yogi is one of the most yoga-focused options in this comparison.

On the full retreat days, guests practise both Prenatal Vinyasa and Restorative Prenatal Yoga, while morning workshops explore birth, the parent-child bond and postpartum.

Add a certified organic Tuscan farm, local vegetarian food and plenty of nature, and it has a very distinct character.

Duration: 5 days / 4 nights

Location: Le Pianore, Monticello Amiata, Tuscany, Italy

Language: English

Partners: No dedicated partner programme advertised

  • Three organic Italian meals per day on full retreat days

  • Locally grown or home-grown ingredients where possible

  • Free time in the Tuscan countryside

Upcoming retreat date

  • October 29–November 2, 2026

Why Natural Yogi stands out

This feels like the retreat for someone who wants a lot of prenatal yoga, not just one short class each morning.

The full days combine energising Prenatal Vinyasa with a slower Restorative practice later in the day. Between them are workshops with a doula and childbirth educator, giving the programme a useful balance between movement and information.

There is also an unusual educational environment around the retreat: prenatal-yoga teacher training takes place alongside it, so guests share the setting with yoga teachers and birth workers developing their own prenatal knowledge.

The organic farm setting in the Tuscan hills makes this a particularly appealing option if food, yoga and countryside are high on your wish list.

Earth Mama Prenatal Retreat - Andalusia, Spain

Best for: An affordable, earthy retreat where being in nature and keeping things simple are part of the appeal

Earth Mama is a good fit if you aren't looking for polished luxury and would actually prefer something simpler, closer to nature and more rooted in a traditional yoga-retreat atmosphere.

Accommodation ranges from bringing your own tent to glamping and cabins, keeping the price substantially lower than many of the other retreats in this guide.

Language: English

Why Earth Mama stands out

Earth Mama is the lowest-priced option in this comparison, and the environment is intentionally very different from a villa or spa hotel.

The retreat takes place at Ananda Forest in the Alpujarra mountains, with an emphasis on nature, yoga, meditation, connection and community.

For someone who would happily exchange luxury for a more earthy experience, simple accommodation and plenty of time outdoors, Earth Mama offers something genuinely different.

Be Your Muse Pregnancy Retreats - Austria

Best for: Going inward — with mindfulness, rituals, embodiment and space to process the emotional transition into motherhood

Be Your Muse feels quite different from the more conventional wellness-style prenatal retreat.

If pregnancy has you thinking not only about birth itself, but about how becoming a mother is changing you, its approach may particularly resonate.

There is yoga and practical content around pregnancy, birth and postpartum, but the programme places equal importance on mindfulness, embodiment, creativity, rituals and connection with other women.

Duration: 4 days / 3 nights

Location: Austria — location varies by retreat

Partners: No dedicated partner programme

Main inclusions

  • Prenatal Yoga

  • Meditation & breathing practices

  • Workshops around pregnancy, birth & postpartum

  • Support from experienced doulas and women's-health professionals

  • Embodiment practices

  • Pregnancy rituals

  • Women's circles

  • Creativity, movement & singing

  • Community after the retreat

Accommodation and food are not included in the retreat-programme price and are booked separately.

Upcoming retreat dates

TRUST: Sept 24–27, 2026

Language: German & English

Standard retreat programme: €785

Accommodation + full board: €360–€459 separately

HOMECOMING: Nov 5–8, 2026

Location: Licht-Quell-Alm, Bad Mitterndorf

Language: German

Standard retreat programme: €695

Accommodation + full board: €423 separately

Why Be Your Muse stands out

This retreat is especially interesting if you are looking for emotional space and connection, rather than simply accumulating more information.

Prenatal yoga and workshops are combined with mindfulness, rituals, creative practices and women's circles. The intention is not only to think about birth, but to slow down and reconnect with your changing body and identity.

One important difference when comparing prices is that retreat programme, accommodation and food are separate services, rather than one all-inclusive package.

Pregnancy Yoga Retreat - Kaprun, Austria

Best for: Pregnancy-specific yoga and mountain spa time without needing a heavily workshop-based retreat

Pregnancy Yoga Retreat Kaprun is probably the clearest choice here if your main wish is to move, breathe, relax and reconnect with your body during pregnancy.

Rather than filling the stay with extensive educational workshops, the retreat revolves around six pregnancy-specific yoga sessions, with plenty of time around them to enjoy the hotel and spa.

It is taught in German, which is important to consider.

Duration: 4 days / 3 nights

Price: From €695 per person in a shared double room

Location: Alpenhaus Kaprun, Austrian Alps

Language: German

Partners: Yes — a partner can stay at the hotel without joining the yoga programme

Main inclusions

  • Three nights at Alpenhaus Kaprun

  • Breakfast buffet, Afternoon snack, Dinner

  • 6 Prenatal Yoga sessions, approximately 75–90 minutes each

  • Meditation

  • Breathing exercises

  • Baby connection

  • Pelvic-floor & pregnancy-specific movement

  • Yoga Nidra

  • Mama Blessing

  • All yoga equipment

  • Access to the 1,000 m² Alpen.Veda Spa

  • Salzburg Guest Mobility Ticket

Upcoming retreat date

  • December 3–6, 2026

Why the Kaprun retreat stands out

Kaprun is more prenatal-yoga retreat meets mountain spa break than a comprehensive pregnancy-education retreat — and that may be exactly what some women are looking for.

The six yoga sessions pay particular attention to safe movement during pregnancy, breathing, the pelvic floor, back comfort and the connection between mother and baby.

No previous yoga experience is required.

Another useful difference is that your partner can travel and stay with you at the hotel and enjoy the facilities without attending the prenatal-yoga sessions. That makes it possible to have dedicated retreat time while still taking the trip together.

How to Choose the Right Pregnancy Retreat

Looking at several beautiful retreat websites can quickly make them all start to look similar. A more useful way to choose is to ask yourself:

What do I want to come home with?

If you want to feel considerably more informed and confident about labour, birth and the postpartum period, pay attention to how much structured pregnancy-specific content is actually included.

If you've already done plenty of learning and mostly need a few days to slow down, move gently and reconnect with yourself, a more yoga- or relaxation-focused retreat may suit you better.

If this will also be your babymoon, things like the venue, private accommodation, partner policy, spa facilities and amount of free time may matter just as much as the programme itself.

And compare the prices carefully. Some retreats include nearly everything, while others price the programme, accommodation, food, treatments and transport separately.

Pregnancy Retreat or Babymoon: What's the Difference?

A traditional babymoon is usually a holiday taken before your baby arrives. The main aim is to rest, spend time together and enjoy a final trip before family life changes.

A pregnancy or prenatal retreat normally adds pregnancy-specific elements such as prenatal yoga, breathing techniques, labour and birth information, postpartum sessions, meditation and connection with other expecting mothers.

There is plenty of overlap.

Unravel Mama, for example, has quite a strong babymoon atmosphere, while The HummingBee Pregnancy Retreat places more emphasis on structured pregnancy-specific sessions.

Neither approach is necessarily better. It simply depends on what you want from those few days.

Can I Bring My Partner to a Pregnancy Retreat?

Sometimes.

Unravel Mama welcomes partners and allows them to be involved in parts of the programme.

The HummingBee offers selected Eco Edition pregnancy retreats designed for women attending either solo or with a partner.

At Kaprun, your partner can travel with you, share your hotel stay and use the facilities while you attend the pregnancy-yoga sessions.

The other retreats in this guide are primarily designed as spaces for pregnant women and do not currently advertise a dedicated partner programme.

If going together is important to you, see our full guide to the best pregnancy retreats for couples in Europe.

How We Selected These Pregnancy Retreats

We compared pregnancy-specific retreats in Europe based on programme depth, prenatal expertise, accommodation, labour and birth content, postpartum support, pricing, accessibility and currently published 2026–2027 dates.

Information was checked directly against each organiser's current website and was last reviewed on September 15, 2026.

The HummingBee publishes this guide and is one of the retreats included. No retreat has paid to appear in this comparison.

Which Pregnancy Retreat Is Right for You?

There isn't one pregnancy retreat that will be right for everyone — and that is exactly why comparing them can be useful.

Choose The HummingBee if you want to feel genuinely prepared for birth, breastfeeding and postpartum, with substantial evidence-based sessions, dedicated breastfeeding support and plenty of prenatal yoga, all within a fully cared-for retreat experience.

Look at Unravel Mama if you want more of a coastal babymoon atmosphere and would like the possibility of involving your partner.

Choose Vansi if a luxurious Mediterranean experience, massage and being thoroughly looked after are high on your list.

Consider The Natural Yogi if you want prenatal yoga to be a major part of each day, alongside childbirth education and the atmosphere of an organic Tuscan farm.

Look at Earth Mama if you want nature, simplicity and a lower price point.

Choose Be Your Muse if you're particularly drawn to mindfulness, ritual, embodiment and the emotional transition into motherhood.

And look at Kaprun if you want a German-language pregnancy-yoga retreat with a hotel and spa experience — especially if you'd like your partner to come along for the trip without joining the programme.

The right retreat is ultimately the one that gives you the kind of support you personally want before your baby arrives — whether that's preparing for birth and postpartum, moving your body, resting, connecting with other women or simply having a few days where your pregnancy can take centre stage.
